Before You Sail
A few things to help you prepare for your travels with Hullo.
Terminal locations
Convenient locations that make sense and save you time. Whether you’re heading to or from downtown Vancouver, our dock is minutes from the bus, SkyTrain, and rideshare– it’s easy.
Located by the Vancouver Harbour Flight Centre, the Hullo ferry terminal is near all the transit you could possibly need to reach Vancouver’s lively downtown core.
Our terminal at the Nanaimo Port Authority hosts over 350 new paid parking stalls for travellers to ditch their cars. This mid-island location also gives travellers the opportunity to explore more of Vancouver Island’s treasures.
Arriving at terminal
- Getting onboard is super quick – simply arrive at the terminal 20-30 mins before your sailing, join the queue and have your ticket ready for scanning.
- In Vancouver, the boarding area is located outside with limited shelter so make sure you’re ready for the day’s weather conditions.
- In Nanaimo, we have paid parking and a complimentary shuttle between downtown Nanaimo and our terminal.
- If you’re traveling with large bags or sports gear, speak to a Guest Experience Agent to have your belongings tagged prior to boarding.
- Please note that gates close 5 mins before departure, and missed sailings are not eligible for a transfer or refund.
- You can book online and at the terminal up to 10 mins before each sailing.
Hullo Lounge at Mahony's Tavern
- Open daily from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
- Location: Unit 36 in the Vancouver Convention Centre.
- Exclusive menu available for all Hullo guests.
- A warm and dry place to relax before or after sailings.
Bringing things aboard
Pets

Strollers & Car Seats
We know travelling with little ones is tricky with all the extra belongings, so we have space to accommodate collapsible strollers. Carriers are included with infant bookings.
Carry-On
All guests are welcome to bring one carry-on-sized bag and a personal item at no additional cost.
Large Luggage
Guests can now purchase space for up to three large bags ($25 per bag) to connect to YVR, cruise ships, and wherever else your adventures take you. Learn more.
Sports Gear
Take advantage of all BC has to offer! Bring your golf clubs, skis, snowboards, or surfboards for an additional fee. Non-electric bikes – in a bike specific travel bag.

Bikes
Bring your bike aboard! We welcome personal bicycles on select sailings between downtown Vancouver and Nanaimo. Advance reservations are strongly recommended to guarantee your spot. Learn more.
Onboard experience
- Relax and enjoy your reservable seat on our two decks.
- On the lower deck, Comfort seats have charged power and USB charging stations.
- On the upper deck, each reclinable Premium and Business seat includes power, USB and USB-C charging ports.
- Grab a light snack, freshly brewed tea and coffee or a cold drink – please note, we don’t currently serve alcoholic beverages.
- Each vessel has six private, non-gendered bathrooms, including a wheelchair-accessible option with a change table.
- For your safety on our fast-ferry, we ask guests to stay seated throughout the journey. Outdoor access is not available during sailing.
