Wheelchair Travel
A few things to help you prepare for your travels
Wheelchair seating
Our wheelchair-accessible seating is available on the main deck. Our vessels have:
- 1 area for a specialized or electric wheelchair that is securely tied down. Guests traveling in a specialized or electric wheelchair may stay in their chairs, securely fastened with tie-downs and a lap belt, throughout the voyage. We recommend travelling with a companion for additional support.
-
3 areas for wheelchairs that are not tied down. For high-speed vessel safety, guests traveling in a wheelchair that's not tied down must move to a fixed seat onboard. Your wheelchair will be safely stowed away by our onboard crew. One of these areas also has a designated companion seat.
Traveling with a companion? Add an additional guest to your wheelchair reservation. Your companion travels at the same discounted rate as you do, when you book these seats together. If you don't see the companion seat available, it's because the seat has unfortunately been reserved. If you use a specialized or electric wheelchair, we recommend travelling with a companion for additional support. Check out our seating map below for more information.
Accessibility features on our boats
Boarding and disembarking the vessel requires mobility along a sloped gangway at both our Nanaimo and Vancouver terminals. The Vancouver terminal’s gangway is steeply pitched and 150 feet long, so assistance may be required.
Accessible washrooms are located on the main deck at the back of the vessel.
