SNUNEYMUXW TERRITORY, Nanaimo BC – May 23, 2024 Hullo, the fast-ferry company committed to transforming how we travel in BC, recently marked significant achievements in its dedication to providing Islanders with fast, easy and reliable travel between Nanaimo and downtown Vancouver and to supporting the local economy.

In nine months of operation, Hullo has welcomed over 250,000 guests onboard, successfully delivered 100% of its scheduled sailings in April, and delivered over 95% of all scheduled sailings since its launch.

Since its start-up, Hullo has grown from eight employees to 100 employees – with 80% of the workforce proudly calling Vancouver Island home.

Alastair Caddick, CEO of Hullo, said “We’re proud to have a dedicated team that call the Island home, reflecting our commitment to supporting the local community, creating jobs and ensuring our crew achieve a healthy work-life balance.”

“Our rapid expansion and overwhelming support from both locals and visitors demonstrate the demand for our reliable service and the positive impact we’re making on the region,” said Alastair Caddick, CEO of Hullo.

“Our commitment to safety and reliability is clear in our excellent performance in sailing to our schedule and departing on time.  We are extremely confident that our sailing reliability will get even better.”

Chief Mike Wyse, Snuneymuxw First Nation said, “Empowering Islanders with a friendly and reliable ferry service while supporting the local economy is exactly what we set out to do, and it’s rewarding to see Hullo being so warmly embraced by our communities.”
